As the demands upon civil aviation continue to grow, capacity pressure is mounting within most of Europe’s busiest airports.

Málaga Airport is currently the fourth busiest Airport in Spain and handles around 12 Million passengers per year. As part of the Malaga Plan, building work has started on a new terminal building (Terminal 3) which will increase the airports passenger capacity by 50% during peak times. Reliable, high performance and future proof data communications solutions will be a critical element in the successful integration of Terminal 3 into the existing airport infrastructure

Brand-Rex has been selected as the projects exclusive cabling solutions technology partner. Through a combination of project support and collaboration, the technological solutions offered by Brand-Rex will include SmartPatch, our intelligent infrastructure management solution, Blolite+, our innovative blown fibre solution, and our leading edge 10GPlus augmented category six copper solution. The ability to offer a complete high performance, future proof and high technology solutions package was key to winning the Malaga Airport Project.

The project will include the necessary support for data, voice and video communications throughout the entire airport complex and will include the integration of both existing terminals with the new terminal 3. The project was awarded at a value of €15,6 Million.
